Our beginning was a soft and quiet start in the year 2000. Mary Villarreal, Helen Arriaga, Margaret Sifuentes and Connie Chavez asked if I would consider having a Bible study. Well, I hesitated, went to the Lord and prayed, "Lord, if this is from you bless it and if not just dissolve it." The answer was yes!

The next thing I knew they were saying, "We wish we could go somewhere to Praise and Worship." I took it to the Lord and prayed "Lord, if this is from you bless it and if not dissolve it." I asked what He wanted me to do with this and His answer was have a Women's breakfast. To bring those that are unable to go to a church, to Bible study or to a Christian gathering, but will go to a person's home for tea or coffee. He gave me this in September of 2002 and we had our first Jesus Breakfast in October of 2002 in my home.

Then I wondered, "where am I going to get speakers?" "How am I going to do all this?" The Lord answered me real quick! He said "Not YOU Diane, Me your Lord will prepare the way. You will invite them as I give them to you. Some will come and others will say no." It took us 30 days to get the first Jesus Breakfast off and running. Mae Hennesay was our first speaker. Since then, we have had Nathalie Ray, Sharon Richards, Elizabeth Jensen, Pat Thompson, Julie Gonzales, Kay Owens, Hae Ja Crisman, Irene Morones, Sandy Chavez, Cecelia Lingenfelter, Jolene Kennedy and more. Many are called to the banquet table but few will come. He gave me names for speakers one right after another and He said I will revive the past speakers and bring them out of the desert.

We could not even get 10 women to come to our first Jesus Breakfast. A lot of those that were asked said no, however as time went on we grew.

Frederica Jones has had several Jesus Breakfast in her home, Sandy Chavez in Sanger, Mae Hennesay in Porterville, Pat Thompson in Porterville, Theresa Rogers in Coarsegold, Juanita Fred in Sacramento and Dixie MiBelli in Fresno.   Connie Chavez and Sandy Chavez have also held breakfasts in Mexico.

We outgrew our living room, then the patio, now we have 40 or more at the Plaza Café. Our purpose is not restaurant Jesus Breakfast, it is Jesus Breakfast in your homes.

I encourage women to have a Jesus Breakfast in their homes - you never know when your entertaining angels. It was done in Jesus' time and it can be done today. You put your special touch in preparing for Jesus. Most of all Father blesses your home and family and all those that come because they are called by name and not by chance.

One day these precious ladies of God come to me and said "It would be real nice if we could have a retreat." A RETREAT!!!! I said, "Oh! No, this is just too much!" I kind of went off the deep end for a second. However, the Lord brought me into remembrance that He had mentioned it to me several months ago. So needless to say I calmed down. I then went into prayer "Lord, if this is from you bless it and if not just dissolve it." Then our Father said, "it is time for a retreat". Oh my goodness was my answer! I presented it to the Bible Study ladies and they were so excited.

We need to think this out, it's all new to us. I prayed, "Lord, if this is from you bless it and if not just dissolve it". We need a bank account to hold our retreat monies. So, to the bank I go. I advised the Bank Associate that I would like to open and deposit a very SMALL amount of money for our retreat. The lady asked "what is the name of your organization?" What organization? She asked "what is the name of your President?" What president? Then, "what is the name of your treasurer?" What treasurer?" One more question was asked, "what is your ID number?" Okay, God! Something is not right here. I just want a bank to hold our monies for retreat. So, the Bank Associate advised me what I needed to do and I did it!

We needed a name and I heard this name back in 1999, at a Conference, "that we were Women of Excellence". The Lord said that is your name. I didn't understand it at the time but today I do. I needed to call IRS for a ID number waited on the phone for over an hour and spoke with the most kindest Christian woman. She told me I cannot use "The Women of Excellence" however I could use "Fresno Women of Excellence". Yes! This is good - Just don't hang up! We received our number and went back to change the legal name and to the bank. All in the same day!! If God be for you who can be against you?

Now we are a Non-profit - Non Denominational Organization and the Lord gave us our Board and Titles.

The Lord gave us three advisors Pastor Mike Frye, Rev. Larry Arce and Mae Hennesay. Each one was asked, with no hesitation they said yes. Praise the Lord!!!

The unknown journey of God can be so exciting if we just walk it by faith. We didn't know the next step we just walked with Jesus and trusted him. We prayed, we fasted and trusted him. However, I do believe if He did it for us He can do it for you. For nothing is impossible for Him. No sickness, no finances, no misbehaved child or husband or wife daughter or son. Just trust Him and have faith.

End of story. I think, God set me up with these little ladies. I just love them, AMEN!
