About the Food Ministry

I operate the "Food Ministry" where I place food items such as flour, sugar, salt, oil, toothpaste, toothbrushes, juices, rice, beans and other food and essential needy items that I purchase and also which are donated by the other ladies into a basket.  I also place the most important item into the food basket which is a Bible so that the person or family in need can share the Word of our Lord with themselves or with others.  I then place a nice big bow on the basket and I donate the baskets to a person or family in need during Christmas and Easter.

And the crowds asked [John the Baptist], "What then should we do?" In reply he said to them, "Whoever has two coats must share with anyone who has none; and whoever has food must do likewise." (NRSV, Luke 3:10-11)

But whoever has the world's goods, and beholds his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? (NAS, 1 John 3:17)
